Life Groups are small groups of 12 to 15 people that come together to learn, live, lift and lead. We don't want you to be content sitting in a pew on Sunday Mornings! God has so much more for you than that! Life Groups give you the chance to get into the Word, meet new people, serve the church and the community, and help lead others in their walk.
We took our Blueprint for Believers and decided to extend it further. Our Life Groups encompass all four points in order to help you become better equipped to share your faith, build community and connect with other believers. The Bible tells us that we are to GO into the world and make disciples of all nations, that we are to share the Good News, that we are to serve, and that we are to be trained up in a way that is righteous, leading others to salvation. Through Life Groups, you will have an opportunity to see your relationship with Jesus and others grow.
Each Life Group has a different topic of study. They can be topical-marriage, finance, discipleship, parenting, etc. They can be a small group study-a book written with the intent of study and discussion. They can be a Bible Study-one of the books of the bible studied out over a few weeks time frame. They can be co-ed, for women, for men, for young adults, for singles. The learning possibilities are endless! But at the end of each study, we are positive you will have learned more than you knew before.
Life Groups are about community and building relationships. Our Life Groups don't run more than 10-15 people per group, so you really get the chance to get to know others. Oh, and we don't just want you to meet and study. We want you to have fun too! Your group might plan an evening out to dinner, an afternoon on the beach, a Football Sunday Party, a trip to play mini golf, or a backyard BBQ. Living life with other believers is supposed to be FUN!
Jesus spoke often of serving others. Making a difference in our communities is a part of being a believer. There are always needs to be met, both in our church and our community. Life Groups are encouraged to get involved in one Community Service Outreach and one service to help the church.
Good leaders build leaders. Leadership is an opportunity to serve from the front, while identifying leadership qualities in others. As our Life Groups grow, there will be opportunity for new leaders to lead another Life Group. Our Life Group Leaders goal is to inspire spiritual growth and an attitude of service. They act as a selfless guide by encouraging those in their groups who have an interest in Life Group Leadership. Ephesians 4:11-12 says "It was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up."
